Bao Yuan 暴鳶, also written Bao Yuan 暴䳒, Bao Jie 暴截 oder Baozi 暴子, was a general of the state of Han 韓 during the Warring States period 戰國 (5th cent.-221 BCE).

In 301, he participated in a joint battle with Qi 齊 (commanded by Kuang Zhang 匡章, also called Zhangzi 章子) and Wei 魏 (commanded by Gongsun Xi 公孫喜) against the army of Chu 楚. The allies defeated the general of Chu, Tang Mei 唐眜, at Chuisha 垂沙, a point where Chu had erected a long defence wall (fangcheng 方城, close to Nanyin 南陰, Henan).

In 275, when Wei was attacked by Qin 秦, Bao Yuan commanded a relief army to repel the invader Qin under the command of Marquis Rang 穰侯 close to Daliang 大梁 (Kaifeng 開封, Henan), the capital of Wei, but Bao Yuan was defeated and lost 40,000 troops. Wei had to cede eight towns to Qin. A year later, Marquis Rang attacked once more, and again defeated the allies Wei and Qi. The kingdom of Han changed sides when attacked by Zhao 趙 and Wei in 273. This time, it was supported by the army of Qin under the command of Bai Qi 白起 and Hu Yang 胡陽. In the battle of Huayang 華陽 (today's Zhengzhou 鄭州, Henan), Qin forced general Mang Ang 芒卯 of Wei to flee, and destroyed its army of 130,000 men.
