Jian Yong 簡雍, courtesy name Xianhe 憲和, and perhaps originally bearing the family name Geng 耿 , was a supporter of Liu Bei 劉備 (161-222), the founder of Shu-Han 蜀漢 (221-263), one of the Three Empires 三國 (220~280 CE).

He hailed from the commandery of Zhuojun 涿郡 (today's Zhuoxian 涿縣, Hebei), and followed Liu Bei when he became the master of the province of Jingzhou 荊州 in the middle Yangtze region. He was appointed court gentleman (congshi zhonglang 從事中郎) and regularly represented Liu in official missions, for instance, in the attempt to persuade Liu Zhang 劉璋 (d. 219), regional governor of the province of Yizhou (Sichuan) to surrender to Liu Bang. For his merits, Jian was given the title of "General of Brilliant Virtue" (zhaode jiangjun 昭德將軍).
