Wang You 王脩, courtesy name Shuzhi 叔治, was an official during the very late Eastern Han period 東漢 (25-220 CE).
He came from Yingling 營陵 in the commandery of Beihai 北海 (modern Weifang 濰坊, Shandong). During the reign of Emperor Xian 漢獻帝 (r. 189-220) he became a recorder (zhubu 主簿) of Kong Rong 孔融, administrator (xiang 相) of the princedom administrator of the princedom of Beihai, later magistrate (ling 令) of Gaomi 高密, and then of Jiaodong 胶東. Wang then decided to offer his services to the warlord Yuan Shao 袁紹, who made him magistrate of Jimo 即墨.
When Cao Cao took control of north China, Wang was made section administrator in the Ministry of Works (sikong yuan 司空掾), and then governor (taishou 太守) of the commandery of Weijun 魏郡. Cao Cao's 曹操 creation of the kingdom of Wei offered him the rise to the post of Chamberlain for Attendants (langzhong ling 郎中令) under the Chamberlain for the National Treasury (dasinong 大司農).
