Runan yishi 汝南遺事 "Memories of Runan" is a history of the siege and conquest of the city of Caizhou 蔡州, prefecture Runan, compiled by the early Yuan-period 元 (1279-1368) scholar Wang E 王鶚 (1190-1273), courtesy name Baiyi 百一.
The book narrates, in a form of a diary, the three years long campaign of the Mongols against one of the most important cities of the Jin empire 金 (1115-1234). Wang E noted down his own experience as an eye-witness. The 4-juan long book was therefore of great importance for the compilation of the official dynastic history of the Jin empire, the Jinshi 金史. It has survived in fragments in the Jinshi and the Ming-period 明 (1368-1644) encyclopaedia Yongle dadian 永樂大典.
The Runan yishi is included in the series Siku quanshu 四庫全書 and Jifu congshu 畿輔叢書.
Another book with the same title is a novella written by the Ming-period scholar Li Bengu 李本固 (jinshi degree 1592).
