Wuchuanlu 吳船錄

The Four Categories of Literature
Wuchuanlu 吳船錄 "Boat journey to Wu (Zhejiang)" is a travel account written by the Song period 宋 (960-1279) scholar Fan Chengda 范成大. It was compiled after he left his post in Sichuan in 1177 and returned to the capital Lin'an 臨安 (modern Hangzhou 杭州, Zhejiang) by boat along the Yangtze River. The 2 juan "scrolls" long book gives a detailed report of ancient sites along the river. It is written with great accuracy and helps amending errors in older books. The title of the book is derived from a verse of the Tang period 唐 (618-907) poet Du Fu 杜甫. It is included in the collectanea Baoyantang miji 宝顏堂秘笈, Siku quanshu 四庫全書, Zhibuzuzhai congshu 知不足齋叢書 and Congchu jicheng chubian 叢書集成初編.
