(Yuxuan) Guwen yuanjian (御選)古文淵鑒 (古文淵鑒鑑) is an anthology of ancient literature compiled by Xu Qianxue 徐乾學 (1631-1694), but according to selections suggested by the Kangxi Emperor 康熙帝 (r. 1661-1722). The selection followed the idea that famous anthologies like Prince Zhaoming’s 昭明太子 (501-531) Wenxuan 文選 did not pay attention to changes in styles over the ages. Xu’s anthology therefore includes writings from the Spring and Autumn period 春秋 (770-5th cent. BCE) to the Southern Song 南宋 (1127-1279).
The collection of 64 juan length consists of three parts, namely a main collection (Zhengji 正集), a secondary collection (Bieji 別集), and an "outer collection" (Waiji 外集). All selected texts are critically commented on an accompanied by a brief introduction, a method by which Xu Qianxue imitated the example of Li Shan’s 李善 (630-689) integral commentary on the Wenxuan, as well as Lou Fang’s 樓昉 (jinshi degree 1193) Chong guwen jue 崇古文訣 (Guwen biaozhu 古文標注) concerning the genres, and Wang Tingzhen's 王霆震 (12th cent.?) Guwen jicheng 古文集成 with regard to persons.
The anthology was printed in 1686 by the Guxiang Studio 古香齋, which belonged to the Imperial Household Department, and is included in the imperial series Siku quanshu 四庫全書.
