Lupu biji 蘆浦筆記 "Brush notes from Reed Shore" is a "brush-notes"-style text (biji 筆記) written during the Southern Song period 南宋 (1127-1279) by Liu Changshi 劉昌詩 (jinshi degree 1205), courtesy name Xingbo 興伯, from Qingjiang 清江 (today's Enshi 恩施, Hubei). He was a district magistrate and salt tax supervisor of the salt production site of Luli 蘆瀝場 in Huating 華亭. During this time, he felt very abandoned in his remote position, and began to study books, made notes, and thus compiled a notebook of 10 juan length.
The book assembled more than 100 notes on various books and corrects errors like Wu Zeng's 吳曾 (fl. 1162) Nenggaizhai manlu 能改齋漫錄. Liu also recorded some texts not found in other books, for instance, Zhang Shi's 張栻 (1133-1180) Quezhai ming 愨齋銘 that is not found in Zhang's collected writings. In general, Liu's book is a valuable tool that corrects mistakes of other writings.
The book was first printed by the Liufeng Xian Studio 六峰縣齋, but was never circulated widely.
The text is included in the series Siku quanshu 四庫全書, Zhibuzuzhai congshu 知不足齋叢書, Xuehai leibian 學海類編, Biji xiaoshuo daguan 筆記小說大觀, Congshu jicheng chubian 叢書集成初編 and Jiu xiaoshuo 舊小說 (only parts). The modern edition from 1986 (Zhonghua Shuju 中華書局) makes use of an ancient, anonymous critical book, Lupu biji jiao 盧浦筆記校.
