Wanjing 丸經 "The Classic of the Ball"

The Wanjing 丸經 "Classic of the ball" is a book on ball game written by an anonymous person of the Yuan period 元 (1279-1368), probably in 1343. Ball gaming is already mentioned as nong wan 弄丸 in the chapter Xu Wugui 徐無鬼 in the Daoist book Zhuangzi 莊子 from the Warring States period 戰國 (5th cent.-221 BCE) . During the Song 宋 (960-1279) and Yuan periods there was a game called chui wan 捶丸. The 2 juan "scrolls" long Wanjing quotes statements from ancient books about each kind of ball games and comes to a number of 32 paragraphs.
The Wanjing is included in the collecaneum Congshu jicheng 叢書集成.
