Huajing 花經

Huajing 花經 is a text on flowers written by Zhang Yi 張翊 (Song period 宋, 960-1279). It classifies the most important cultivated species into nine grades of "liveliness" (ming 命), with orchids (lan 蘭), peonies (mudan 牡丹), wintersweet (lamei 䗶梅, Chimonanthus praecox) and winter daphne (zifengliu 紫風流, Daphne odora) at the top, and cottonrose hibiscus (furong 芙蓉; Hibiscus mutabilis), morning glory (qianniu 牽牛; Ipomoea nil), hibiscus (mujin 木槿; Hibiscus syriacus), etc. at the bottom.

The text is found in the series Shuofu 說郛, Wuchao xiaoshuo daguan 五朝小說大觀 and Xiangyan congshu 香艷叢書.
