Zhizhai shulu jieti 直齋書錄解題 "Commented library catalogue of the Zhizhai Studio" is a private bibliography written during the Southern Song period 南宋 (1127-1279) by Chen Zhensun 陳振孫 (c. 1183-1262), original name Yuan 瑗, courtesy name Boyu 伯玉, style Zhizhai 直齋, from Anji 安吉, Zhejiang.
Chen was an ardent collector of books and assembled more than 50,000 juan of writings in his library. In 20 years of collecting he wrote down a annotated catalogue of the books he owned. His catalogue was included in the Ming-period 明 (1368-1644) encyclopaedia Yongle dadian 永樂大典. Only 22 juan of the original size of of 56 juan are preserved.
In the surving parts, 3,096 books are recorded. They are arranged in the four traditional categories of Confucian Classics, histories, masters and philosophers, and belles-lettres, with 53 subcategories.
Chen Zhenxun wrote a small preface for eight of the categories, but no general preface. For each book, he provided a resume of the content, informations about the author and the various editions of the books. The term jieti 解題 "explanation to a subject" had later been used by authors of other library catalogues.
The book has also survived in parts as a Song-period print owned by the scholar Mao Jin 毛晉 (1599-1659). A copy of 20 juan once in the possession of Li Shengduo 李盛鐸 (1859-1937) is owned by the Library of the Peking University 北京大學圖書館, as well as 4 juan of a Yuan-period 元 (1279-1368) print. The Qing-period scholar Lu Wenchao 盧文弨 (1717-1795) put together surviving parts. His manuscript is owned by the Shanghai Library 上海圖書館. The Shanghai Guji Press 上海古籍出版社 published in 1987 a modern edition which is based on several different editions.
